Jennifer's Story

Jennifer is a typical young girl who loves school, loves to paint her nails. Her favorite movie is High School Musical and loves to play with her baby dolls and toy puppies.

Her day, however is very full. After a full night of tube feeding with high calorie special formula, she fits in each day, 4 breathing medications and 2 hours of respiratory treatments with a vibrating vest to help clear the abnormal mucous in her lungs caused by her disease, cystic fibrosis.

Cystic Fibrosis (CF), is a genetic, and fatal lung disease that affects 30,000 people in the U.S. To keep the inflammation down in her body and to help her grow, she needs to take 17 pills each day. This is all while she is well. When her disease flares up or she gets a cold, her regime is enhanced spending more time on lung treatments, requiring more medications and a likely trip to the hospital. In between this, Jennifer goes to school, plays piano, loves doing gymnastics and swims. She truly lives each and every day to the fullest.
